Calculator inputs are processed in your browser
SmartCostTools calculators run in your browser. We do not operate a user-account database and we do not intentionally send the numbers you type into calculator fields to our own server. The site may remember a basic preference such as your selected currency symbol using browser storage. Calculator input values are not saved by SmartCostTools.
Contact messages
If you submit the contact form, the name, email address, topic and message you provide are transmitted through the website hosting provider’s form-processing service so the message can be reviewed and answered. Do not send passwords, banking credentials, card numbers or other highly sensitive information. Contact messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, prevent abuse and maintain basic business records.
Hosting, security and technical logs
Our hosting provider may process IP addresses, device/browser information, request timestamps and similar technical logs to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the website. Those records are handled under the provider’s own privacy and security practices.
Google AdSense and advertising cookies
SmartCostTools is preparing to use Google AdSense. If Google advertising tags are enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar identifiers as a result of ad serving. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to SmartCostTools and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can manage personalized-ad choices through Google Ads Settings. You can also learn how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. If additional third-party ad vendors or networks are enabled, this policy will identify them or provide access to the relevant vendor information and opt-out choices.
Consent and privacy choices
Before personalized Google ads are served to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, SmartCostTools will use a Google-certified consent management platform where required by Google’s publisher requirements. The consent system will provide the choices required for the relevant region and service. Where applicable, privacy messaging may also be used for U.S. state privacy choices.
Browser storage
SmartCostTools may store a basic preference such as your selected currency symbol in your browser. Standard browser caching may also keep copies of public website files temporarily to improve loading performance. SmartCostTools does not use browser storage to save the numbers you enter into calculator fields.
Analytics
The current production site does not require a third-party analytics script. If analytics is added later, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated before or when that service is activated.
Children
SmartCostTools is a general-audience planning website and is not designed as a service directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly ask children to create accounts or provide calculator data to us.
Your choices
You can clear the saved currency preference and ordinary cached website files through your browser’s site-data controls. You can choose not to submit the contact form. If advertising is enabled, the consent and advertising controls described above will provide additional choices where applicable.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site’s services, advertising setup, consent tools or legal requirements change. The date at the top will be updated when material changes are published.
